Winter Blues

Shall I start off with some bad news? Well the laptop I’ve got might be on the fritz, so it looks like I might have to take it in for repairs. The good news(or bad news?) Since it’s new comics day I thought I’d say something about buying a shed load of comics the past week and on top of the pile is Winter Soldier#2 by Ed Brubaker and artist Jackson “Butch” Guice.

Since the character’s revival in the pages of Captain America, the former sidekick and one time Cap stand in has gone from strength to strength. It’s apparent that Ed Brubaker likes writing his exploits. The new series is set after the events of Fear Itself where James Barnes faked his death, which many fans felt it was bit of a cop out.

Like Spider-Man, Wolverine, the Winter Soldier has a fair share of angst, guilty over what he did, having spent time as a brainwashed spy for the Soviets and killing innocent people, the first issue began with him and his girlfriend, Natasha Romanoff AKA the Black Widow on a mission to stop other sleeper agents from wreaking havoc. The kicker is that he trained the agents himself.

The big bad behind this is the Red Ghost, a Marvel B list villain at best with his team of highly intelligent apes, he’s aided by the former prime minister of Latveria, Madame Lucia Von Bardas, the duo hatch a plan to use one of the agents to kill Dr Doom. The new series doesn’t skimp on action either the first few pages has the Winter Soldier doing some gun ballet with a rifle toting gorilla and somewhere along the way, Nick Fury pops up to give an informer a tough time.

I grew up watching a lot of 60s T.V spy shows thanks to repeats on BBC 2 and Channel Four. It’s fair to say that Barnes and Romanoff are the John Steed and Emma Peel of the Marvel Universe, despite being set in the present, it’s almost got a retro swinging sixties feel to it and without a doubt it’s down to Guice’s fluid pencil work where he’s assisted by colourist Elizabeth “Bettie” Breitweiser.
When I bought the first issue last month it felt innovative to a jaded old comic reader like me. Lush painted panels, unique use of colour and compared to all the other Marvel titles out there if there was a nomination for most “stylish comic of 2012” WS would win it by a yardstick.

FOUND!!

I haven’t been up to much since the last time I posted aside from seeing a rubbish Tom Hanks film, I surprised myself a few days back by not buying comics and I’m pretty sure that there’s a load of Marvel and DC books that are waiting for me to collect. The reason why I’ve been suffering from comic withdrawal is I’ve recently booked a hotel for the upcoming London Super Comic Con which is in a few weeks time.

I’m currently in the midst of writing some questions for two upcoming interviews that i’m hopefully going to post up next week so that’s taking an amount of my time but on Sunday I received a message on my Facebook page from a guy called Moses who works at the pub where my keys went missing and he told me the keys have been found.

Unfortunately the memory sticks weren’t attached to them, now you all know my thoughts if they ended up in the wrong hands, whoever has them has probably wiped the memory but one of them is faulty anyway so I’m not really concerned about it.
I went back to the bar on Wednesday to pick them up. Although I had another pair made, i’m glad to have them back.
Cheers Moses!

Before Watching Marvel Legends.

Everyone this week in comic land has been talking about the new Watchmen prequels. I’ve read comments ranging from a “pointless pointless exercise in money grabbing” to “I sign for all the issues!!! I have not had the luck to buy the original Watchmen comic books, now there is no more excuses to let them on the shelves!!!!”

Before Watchmen: Comedian by 100 Bullets writer Brian Azzarello and Wanted artist J.G Jones, could they be applauded for reintroducing the world of Watchmen to a new audience?

Okay so it’s sans Alan Moore and Gibbons who were a pivotal driving force in the mini-series with artist Dave Gibbons but the creative teams include WM editor Len Wein, Brian Azzarello, J. Michael Straczynski and artists like Lee Bermejo, Adam Kubert and Adam Hughes but will DC ship these books on time given some of the artists and writers erratic schedules?

I tend to think Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons story about tortured people in spandex is a seminal piece of graphic literature which goes down as probably the best Xmas present my aunt got me. Will the new prequels hold any mustard? I think I’ll just flick through it at the shops...

In other news, Marvel Legends are out in shops right now. The series spun off from the top selling Spider-Man line ten year’s ago. Each figure came with a comic combined with great sculpting that was on a par with top model makers working in the field and you could pose them anyway you wanted to.

Hulk artist, Ed Mc Guinness did the packaging designs.

The line got picked up by Hasbro back in 07, they ditched the comics and after a few lines of their own, the company focused on doing 3 inch versions instead despite being well sculpted, I’ve got some of them but they just weren’t Marvel Legends. The recent year’s been quite hard for us Marvel Legends fans, I purchased one of the extremely hard to find two packs which includes Hulk and Valkyrie via eBay and they didn’t come cheap.

I bought Thor or as it’s known as “Heroic Age Thor.” It’s essentially a repackaged and repainted mould of the San Diego Comic Con exclusive which was released last year for shed loads of cash.Thor doesn’t come with the standard BAF part (Big Action Figure) which left me surprised as before picking it up I’d expected to have a leg or an arm.

The sculpt is miles away from a very Schwarzenegger inspired son of Odin that came with Marvel Legends series 3 that goes back almost ten years ago. This is the modern age look for the Midgard loving thunder god complete with Uru hammer. Sculpted by artist Paul Harding, he’s clearly been influenced by Oliver Coipel’s superlative run on the book.

I’d really wish the manufacturers did cloth capes. when it comes to figures that need capes they work for 1:6 figurines so why can’t they do them for six inch figures? On this occasion posing Thor in various poses wasn’t that difficult, He could have done with a cloth cape, having a moulded heavy plastic cape can sometimes affect the balance and posture of the figure. Having said that it’s a minor niggle on a classy figure that really does justice to the Avenger.

On the right is the MLs Walmart exclusive Thor, to see outtakes of the photo shoot I did, go here

Hasbro is already planning a third wave for the reinvigorated line I’ve seen the new series fly off the shelves and I’ve already bought two more figures. Here’s to hoping that stores like Asda and Toys R Us start selling these figures, the action figure area is looking pretty barren last time I checked. I’m wondering if I'll end up buying the whole lot. Ah the joys of being a completist....

Absens quoque

It’s quite rare that I talk about things other than comics and films on here, but if you get to know me you’ll find that I’m quite absent minded. I easily lose stuff in my room which I have to admit, it could do with a massive spring clean up.

I went out on Saturday night in Wolverhampton with friends to celebrate a mate’s twenty fifth birthday. Although I had a great time I ended up losing my house keys also two USB sticks which were attached to it. I wasn’t drunk or anything I realised something was missing when we all ordered for a taxi, at the time I thought I left them at home. When I got back I couldn’t find them anywhere at all. No doubt about it, I was seriously stressed out.

The next day I set about looking for them, I even went back to work, on one occasion I left the keys in the locker room where I work and went home. When I realised they weren’t in my coat pocket I went back and fortunately they were still there. No one had touched them.

A friend of mine recently said it “wasn’t majorly important like your wallet” which I’m very precautious of losing. One of the USB sticks contained a CV and covering letters both of which has my home address, music tracks on MP3, stuff I’d written for my site and oddly enough a uncut version of Serbian Film which I was going to review but having seen half of it, I decided not to.

The second USB stick has information regarding this site and the last time I checked I put into my laptop port it didn’t work. I told my mom about what happened and she told me that the house keys were changed a while ago. No wonder someone stays up when I get back!

These are my new keys. Ive taken a picture which I took in case I ever lose them again!

I’ve had a new set of keys made, at the time of writing my mom still hasn’t given me the new keys for the house but I’m doubtful that I’m ever going to see the old set of keys again.

If someone does have them then I’d really like to see them back. Obviously I’m quite concerned that they might fall into the wrong hands but here’s the kicker if you’re planning to use the information on my memory stick to steal my identity for fraudulent purposes, well guess what, most of the information on it is quite old.

Yep that’s the Twilight Zone twist. Next week mark your diaries, it’s normal business as usual.....

The New Con in town.

First of all a belated Happy New Year to you lot out there! Right now I’m currently looking for a cheap hotel in good old Londinium as they say. Yep you guessed it I’m going to another convention and it’s the new kid on the block, the London Super Comic Con.

The scale of this one is writ large with top U.S guests like George Perez, Mike Deotato Jr, and Bill Sienkiewicz and publishers IDW who’ll be sharing space with home grown talent like Jock, Sean Phillips, Paul Cornell and Brian Bolland.

But the big draw at the event will be of course Stan Lee, the veteran co creator of Spider-Man, Hulk and the list goes on. Without a doubt, he’s a legendary figure in comics. He once appeared at UKCAC twenty years ago. This was before all these conventions began popping up; it was our equivalent of the San Diego Comic Con.

I’m sure that top pros who are attending SLCC will be acting like fan boys when Stan’s signing or doing a panel. Unlike the convention organisers of say, Thought Bubble and Kapow especially the latter, co organiser Mark Millar was more than happy to promote it over interviews with press, the organisers of LSCC have kept bit of a low profile. Until now that is....

It’s made up of a group of comic fans “who want nothing more than to have a UK show that can go toe to toe on a guest list basis with the larger American Shows, and have a show that truly rivals its American counterparts.”

To find out more, I shot some questions off to George Panayiotou whose one of the organisers behind the convention. A dedicated comics fan who works at Comicana direct and here’s what he had to say.

Until recently you only did a small interview on Bleeding Cool, you’ve kept a low profile why have you maintained a distance from press?
We have always felt that who we are is irrelevant. The show is not about us, otherwise only our families would attend. It is about our guests, publishers, dealers and small press exhibitors. The press reflecting this has been substantial. When asked we are happy to do interviews about the show.

You’ve said that you’re a network of comic fans and professionals who are setting up a convention, what kind of research did you do into organising it?

We have been attending conventions in the UK and US for over 30 years. In most cases we have been able to see the convention process from both the attendee and the exhibitor side and have therefore been able to determine how best to put on a show. We have also been helped by fellow convention organisers sharing their knowledge and experience on the intricacies of putting on a show.

How did you get the podcasters behind Comic Geek Speak to help with the con?

We have known the Comic Geek Speak crew on a personal level for a long time. It has been a pleasure to have them involved in the process.

Why did you choose the Excel Centre as a venue for the event?

We looked at which venue would be able to host a show of this size yet have the scope to grow. We identified 3 options: (a) Excel Centre, (b) Earls Court and (c) the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. We believe that the Excel Centre is the most attractive of the 3 options due to its exceptional facilities, professional management, capability to grow the show and the capability of London as one of the major cities in the world to attract top talent and attendees.

How many tickets have been sold for the event?

Sales have taken off and as tickets are limited we recommend buying them as soon as possible.

How did you go about getting the guests for the convention especially in particular, Stan Lee?

Well the short answer is.. We asked him. The slightly longer answer would also include detective work and calling in a lot of favours to be able to make the initial approach, prolonged negotiations of both a financial nature and to secure a deal that allows all attendees to benefit from his presence and finally many, many hours of calls and meetings. In the end, a combination of all those factors and the plans for the show that he was made aware of coupled with the fact that the comic fan base in the UK and Europe would love to see him here, ensured he was quick to agree to come.

Being involved as collectors and dealers in the comic market for over 20 years, we have a broad contact list that we have been able to leverage, and being friends with Comic Geek Speak has helped immensely. For an inaugural comic convention to attract the guest list we have, demonstrates how much work we have put into the show.

A lot of fans will go the convention to get autographs and sketches from artists, will most of them be charging for sketches?

As with all conventions any charge related for sketches will be determined by the artists. The charge if any, will be very much a case by case basis dependent on the level of work requested and who the creator is.

Apart from 2000AD and IDW attending, will there be a large presence from big comic companies like DC and Marvel?

IDW will be attending the show. This will be a first for the UK. Chris Ryall (Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief) will be performing portfolio reviews and there will be a Transformers exclusive cover for the show.
- We would look to add DC and Marvel in the second year but this will be very much dependent on the success of the inaugural show. I think we can all agree that the guests and exhibitors attending are sufficient to attract the audience that we would need to encourage Marvel and DC to cross the Atlantic. Please show your support by coming to the show.

Most big American conventions have that crossover appeal like comic related films and cartoons why aren’t you extending your range in a year that sees the release of movies like Avengers and the new Batman film?

We decided to differentiate ourselves from other shows by being purely focused on comics. As it's our inaugural show we wanted to establish the shows capabilities to attract top comic talent without having to focus on the film market.

Do you feel you’ve overshadowed all the upcoming conventions like Kapow and Thought Bubble?

Not at all. With the London Super Comic Convention being new and the first major show of the year the focus naturally sits with us. I like Thought Bubble’s mix of film and comics and Kapow now scheduled for May 2012 means that there is a good mix of options over the entire year.

The UK convention scene is getting larger and larger with all kinds of cons popping up do you reckon the bubble will burst?

I think quality conventions will attract the audiences that they deserve. The UK has an 8% market share of the comic market (per Diamond). As such it should, with the proximity of the rest of Europe, be able to maintain a strong comic convention circuit. All convention organisers need to ensure that they maintain the highest quality programme that they can budget permitting. We think we have done this with our show and hope that everyone will agree with us on February 25th and 26th.

(A George Perez piece done specially for the LSCC convention booklet.)

Special thanks to George Panayiotou.

Hulking out in the UK

I don’t think my shelves can take much more graphic novels added on it. I just found out that this week that Marvel’s going to reprint Hulk stories that were done for Marvel UK more than thirty years ago, well that's one to get. Obviously I was too young to read them when they were available, but when I was ten or eleven, I’m not too sure about the precise age but I recall buying a few issues in a Dudley market stall, before I eventually settled for the glossy US versions.

I’m bit of a completist when it comes to early Hulk appearances, I’ve got Hulk annuals which were released during the eighties it’s usually filled with a reprinted issue and prose stories with illustrations. David Lloyd, the artist famed for V for Vendetta contributed for one of the stories and drew pictures for the prose tale. Along with the aforementioned Lloyd material, the collection will also reprint a Hulk tale "Monster and the Matador" which hasn’t seen the light of day since the late sixties.

Hulk by Dave Gibbons, he's only drawn the character twice. It'll be great seeing strips like this reprinted but will they be in colour this time round?

Towards the end of the swinging seventies, the UK line was edited by Dez Skinn and Neil Tennant before he went onto pop fame as the front man of the Pet Shop Boys. Skinn was responsible for hiring artists like Dave Lloyd, Dave Gibbons and Steve Dillon who all made a pit stop on Hulk comic which was released to capitalise on the success of the Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno TV show and the three page stories were highly influenced from it.

I think this is a superimposed drawing. The head is drawn by John Romita Sr but could the rest of the body be drawn by artist Brian Bolland?

Earlier on in the year Marvel and their owners Disney decided to stop Panini UK from publishing original material which was a massive kick in the teeth for the UK comics industry. It’s a shame as the home grown stuff was really good. A lot of artists did good work for Panini including Simon Williams, whom top comic reviewer Gary Miller recently said “the premier Hulk artist U.S. fans have never heard of.”

It’s always a good thing that Marvel is finally reprinting material that would give back issue enthusiasts like me headaches and also the comics giant is acknowledging the illustrious history of Marvel UK. I was at Another World in Wolverhampton earlier today and I had a quick glance at the oversized IDW hardcover of Doctor Who which features the entire run of Dave Gibbons’s art on the fourth Doctor, which was originally printed for Marvel UK. I’d like to see Marvel give the same kind of treatment to the Panini material that’s out there.

This is my last post for the year. I'll see you next year folks!

The Cable Guy

Upon writing this next post, I know I’m late to the party but what the hell on earth can I write about Avengers X Sanction? Well I’ve bought another blank cover leaving the standard covers on the shelves yet again. It’s also a four parter and it’s going to lead into next year’s big woolly mammoth of a Marvel event, Avengers vs. X Men.

Jeph “Let’s turn everyone into Hulks” Loeb is back on the writing saddle, possibly given some time off from his position as Marvel TV’s studio head. Loeb’s once again accompanied by Red Hulk artist Ed Mc Guinness. Loeb returns to familiar ground with mutant cyborg Cable, who’s back on the comeback tour right now. After writing his earlier exploits during the nineties, Loeb switches the time travelling mutant from protagonist to antagonist for this one.

Cable’s not the only Marvel hero to come back from the dead this year, he’s joined by the Human Torch whom editorial stated he’d be staying dead for quite a while. As usual no one stays dead in comics. The son of X-Men’s Cyclops returns after apparently sacrificing his life to save his daughter Hope, an ailing Cable returns to the present believing the Avengers are going to harm her. He begins his mission by targeting Captain America.

Cable decides to do a Jonah Lomu on Captain America...

All the hallmarks of a Jeph Loeb written story is here, the internal monologues, flashbacks an appearance by the Red Hulk, a character I’ve never really liked. Needless to say it ends with a cliff hanger that I saw coming from a mile off and no, I didn’t skip to the last page. But it’s an entertaining start, most largely due to the tour de force that is Ed Mc Guinness. Like I mentioned above, I’m not a big fan of the Red Hulk but I bought the issues purely because of the artist. His epic pencils, suitably accompanied by Dexter Vines’s inks bring Loeb’s dull script to life.

In closing, a few weeks back I wrote a review about Captain America which was released on Blu Ray where I mentioned Cap’s co creator Joe Simon. Simon was also instrumental in hiring Stan Lee at Marvel. The veteran artist sadly passed away this month. I’d like to dedicate this post to his memory.
Rest in peace Mr Simon.

Smashing For Christmas!

This time last year it was a completely different story. It was a white Christmas and I was nursing a head injury which could have been far worse and Greg Pak and Barry Kitson were on the Incredible Hulk or Incredible Hulks as it was called back then. What a difference a year makes.

Two issues in writer Jason Aaron remembers what one of the Hulk’s key traits are, smashing and more smashing. For the closing part to Hulk Asunder, Aaron pulls out the stops to make it a worthy one. The theories as to how Hulk split from Banner are burning up comic forums. Aaron teases the reader about how Hulk went about removing himself from Banner’s consciousness, thanks to an off panel benefactor who looks set to be revealed soon. I’m totally sold on the idea that the writer is putting the P.O.V on the Hulk especially in this issue how the Hulk sees Banner’s abused childhood and looking at his split as a “second” rebirth.

The Hulk ponders what he wants for Christmas...

Most of this issue is an unbridled smash fest with Hulk delivering the Austin 3:16s to the Boar Brothers genetically enhanced creatures which were created by Banner. As for Banner well, he reaches new heights of do-lallyness... This issue is, of course Silvestri’s final issue on the book. After the jam in last month’s issue, Silvestri goes out on a high and aided and abetted by colourist Sunny Gho, the pair both ensure that the Hulk truly does smash.

He's not happy about the turkey.

Even though I began hating his work, his art has really grown on me. It’s clear that the artist wanted to try something different after years of drawing X Men characters like Wolverine and his own characters which include Cyberforce and the Darkness.
The veteran artist behind Top Cow at Image has handed the reins over to fellow X Men artist Whilce Portacio. This is his first full stint on the title, having drawn old green genes on books like Iron Man and also pencilled an issue of Red Hulk with Jeph Loeb last year. Portacio draws an immensely muscled Hulk and I’ve got a few issues of his X Men run but I’m not convinced his style is suited to this book but he’s got some tough shoes to fill that’s for sure....

Anyway it’s Christmas Eve right now. I’d just like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
N

Clearing the cobwebs...

In my mind actor Nicolas Hammond will always be Spider-Man. Forget Tobey Maguire I’ll always have a fondness for the short lived live action series of Marvel’s No.1 character.

If you compare it to the recent Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire films and the upcoming Andrew Garfield film, digital special effects and green screens were unheard of back then and the small screen Spidey did more wall crawling then web slinging thanks to a death defying stuntman, Fred Waugh.

The TV show producers also eschewed Spidey’s main love interest Mary Jane Watson, only J.Jonah Jameson, his co editor Robbie Robertson and Aunt May made appearances. Instead of the Green Goblin battling on Manhattan rooftops with the wall crawler, most of the colourful villains that he faces on a monthly basis were too expensive for seventies TV. Instead Hammond’s Spider-Man went up against criminals, mad scientists, cult leaders and Oddjob of James Bond yep, that bloke with the hat.

Although they got the origin right, Peter Parker (Hammond) does gets bit by a radioactive spider and soon creates a costume but the producers forgot the emotional angst that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko gave to Parker. The makers only made two seasons of the series, the series was doing well ratings wise and it was shown on CBS in America. They also had the Incredible Hulk and Wonder Woman under it’s wing. Apparently network execs were nervous about being seen as a network for superheroes and so Spidey was given the chop.

I watched an old episode recently which was recorded from TV when video recorders were the rage! Looking back it’s a cheesy seventies show at it’s best. There are bootleg DVDs of the show available or you can check it out on YouTube but I’d rather see a proper DVD being released in light of the film coming out next year.

Over at Thought Bubble I asked Leeds based artist Dave Golding to do me a commission of the Hammond era Spidey as part of my blank Marvel covers collection.
Cheers Dave!

The Star Spangled Man with the plan.

One thing I’m looking at getting is a new telly, I’m currently eyeing up a 3D TV but they don’t come cheap do they? Even though I’m cash strapped at the minute I’ve added is Captain America The First Avenger to my rising collection of Blu Ray films.

Like many big summer films it was given a conversion into a 3d film, It’s probably to entice more cinemagoers and stop downloading films from the net. A standard ticket with 3d glasses is over £9 quid as a preference, I’d just opt for the 2d version instead. It’s not to say I like films in 3d, if a film’s meant to be in the three dimensional format like the recent film by Martin Scorsese, Hugo which he shot using 3d cameras, then I’ll happily fork the cash out.

With CATFA I never saw it in 3d which is a blessing, I don’t think the film really needs to be shown in 3d quality. The casting of Chris Evans in the role was always going to be a tough one. Last year there were a lot of naysayers about moaning about giving the role to an actor who previously played the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four films.

Evan’s Steve Rogers is possibly the films greatest special effect, Not only does he make everyone forget that he was the same guy who was flaming on as Johnny Storm but he begins in Captain America as a very scrawny and very convincing weakling struggling to get into the army during World War 2. This is one of those rare occasions when acting and special effects both meld perfectly.

The experiment that Rogers under goes enhances his abilities making him stronger although the scientist that created the formula, Dr Erskine(Stanley Tucci) gets assassinated by an agent working for Hydra, an elite Nazi division. The military deem the project a failure despite Rogers using his new found strength to avenge Erskine’s death.

Rather than be a lab rat, Rogers takes up an offer from Senator Brant (Michael Brandon) he’s out fitted in a colourful costume and given the moniker Captain America and begins promoting war bonds and boost morale to soldiers. It’s whilst touring in Italy he discovers his friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Shaw) and his squad is held in enemy lines.

Whilst freeing Barnes and his team, the super soldier makes an enemy with the head of Hydra Johann Schmidt aka the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), a former test subject of Erskine. Rogers soon gains admiration from his peers as Captain America and working alongside Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Colonel Phillips, they set out to foil the Skull’s plans for world domination.

The film marks Marvel studio’s first period movie, being a Marvel fan I noticed more than a few nods(which I’m not going into detail) to Marvel continuity and director Joe Johnston has taken a retro futuristic feel, especially the appearance of the antagonists, Hydra led by the Red Skull played with scenery chewing menace by Weaving. The rest of the cast really stand out like Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Philips, a gruff cynic who initially doubts Rogers’s abilities on the battlefield. Add to that Dominic Cooper whose Howard Stark is an effective foreshadowing of the son role by Robert Downey Junior in the Iron Man films.

Johnston’s applied the same feel to the character which he did with the Rocketeer, being as it’s a Marvel film and part of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” it’s filled with loose connections to Thor and Iron Man, the film’s ending has Rogers awakening in modern day New York but the second act seems to be in a rush to get to the end. I’d like to have the film develop it’s own pace and expand on the supporting characters, especially Atwell’s Peggy Carter who feels like a token love interest.

Having said all that the film is pure escapist fun, the musical number is amusing, and it’s ending leaves it a interesting point whether director Joss Whedon takes up with idea of the “man out of time” for next year’s Avengers film but there’s plenty of material for the sequel which is rumoured for release in 2014.

The rest of the disc is rammed full of special features with featurettes ranging from the design of the costume, deleted scenes, a short featuring Agent Coulson of S.H.E.I.L.D, a look into the Avengers which is really short but one that stands out is an interview with Captain America co creator and veteran artist Joe Simon who conceived the Avenger with fellow artist Jack Kirby. The 98 year old artist talks about the characters earlier days and I’m not the only one whose thought about this but, Stan Lee makes a lot of small appearances in Marvel films like these but on this instance; the producers should have given Simon a cameo instead.

And yes, this is the last post on Captain America!
